Have
you heard that before? When I read an article about a giant diamond, I thought,
there are friends and then there are FRIENDS. Can you imagine what a 76-carat
perfect diamond and a quail egg have in common? Size, Size, Size but definitely
not the $21 million value. The Archduke Joseph Diamond was recently auctioned
and the anonymous buyer paid $21,474,525 for colorless diamond. According to
CBS the winner "is going to donate the diamond for display at a museum" which is
a long way from the ancient Golconda mines in India where it was
discovered. Inflation has really affected jewelry and accessories' retail
prices but this one diamond exploded from the $6.5 million in 1993 to the $21
million this year.
